Steven Holl Uses Cork Flooring In NYU Renovation

01/26/2012

Considering it is Steven Holl, I would only expect something fabulous. The big thing to me, is that a architect of his pedigree, who has such stringent requirements for quality and durability, feels confident enough to choose cork for this particular building. This proves to me that cork is as durable as any other product on the marketplace.

World renowned architect Steven Holl designed the complete interior renovation of an 1890 corner building for the New York University Department of Philosophy. The Ground level, utilized by the entire University, contains a new curvilinear wooden auditorium on a cork floor.
